Did you know Forgetfulness can be a normal phenomenon for all ages? Our environment often influences our capacity to memorise and hinges on many factors. So, how do we differentiate this from actual memory impairment?
Hi, I am Dr Dennis Welcome to my weekly blog on all things Dementia. Have you ever experienced a situation where you were meant to “do something or to get something from the kitchen” and forgot what it was, but it came back subsequently? Or have you ever stood in the supermarket aisle, forgotten what you meant to buy, but knew the items were in this aisle?
Please call me if you have ever had such an experience. I want to ask for your secret! The chances are, we have all done it! As we age, these events seem to be increasing. Shall we worry? If not now, when?
Let me dissect the differences between forgetfulness and the emergence of real memory issues with you.
Friends, this is a simplistic overview of the significant differences between the two situations because, in real life, there can be an overlap or a mix of symptoms from each category.

So, what do I do with this information?
First, if you haven’t read my last blog, please do so, as it may make more sense. I recommend focusing on stress management and anxiety-reducing strategies, intentionally concentrating and prioritising tasks rather than multitasking. Or, as usual, you are welcome to call Prime Garden Mont Albert North on (03) 98904488, leave a message, or email info@primegardensrs.com.au, and our responsive staff will get back to you.
