Hi, friends. I’m doctor Dennis Wong. It is such a great pleasure to share with you my understanding, study, and clinical experience in managing dementia. Until a decade ago, dementia is thought to be an unbeatable beast roaming around devouring human brains. My apologies, I might have been a little bit graphic!

Take heart! There is evidence that we do not have to look far. The solutions are right before our eyes.

I cannot speak for you, my friends, but I’m excited to share what I have learned especially in the last 6 months with you, because all hands must be on deck to beat this disease.

We must not lose faith and hope. How can you have hope and faith without being told?

This is precisely why I am here. I want to give credit to doctor Dale Bredesen and his team for their unwavering dedication in this field of study. I’ve gained so much head knowledge and am touched by many real life testimonies of how dementia can be prevented, and in some cases reverse, especially in the early stage of Alzheimer’s.

You’ve heard it right, in some cases reversed!

Friends, whether you are here as an earnest seeker wanting to learn more about this disease or maybe just coincidental, I hope you will benefit from my sharing.

My passion for the study of dementia comes from my personal experience with my maternal grandma, who is now with the good Lord. She has endured over a decade of dementia, literally withered physically before our eyes. It breaks everyone’s heart.

She could utter or mumble a few unintelligible noises at the end and relies on nasal gastric feeding as she’s forgotten how to swallow.

During my 17 years of practice as a dementia specialist, I’ve also encountered many cases of elder abuse where the families and carers took advantage of the person with dementia and treated them like an expired food item ready to be cast away in the bin. Recalling this experience will take too long and depressing.

Friends, I have divided my blogs into few series.

Each series has its emphasis and theme, but it is organized and presented systematically.

Therefore, I humbly ask you to go through this in order. The last thing I want to see is confusion because you have not read them in the order of the story as I slowly unpack them. In each blog, I’ll also outline the central theme and provide a new and a few practical tips or take home messages that are relevant to the topic into day to day life. Please share this with others and your loved one. I rely on all of you to spread this good news.

Friends, buckle up and get ready, but until then, live well, live with purpose and passion. Don’t let tomorrow’s worries rob you of today’s joy and fun.

See you real soon.
